As the markets languished, this week saw a rare and unexpected ray of light: the sale of the Ape Punk. Could this be the catalyst to a new bull run and better times? We certainly hoped so and decided to dedicate the cover to Ape Punk.
Before we even settled on a design, Red was adamant that the cover should be in a street art style. After much discussion, we settled on the idea of the Ape Punk descending from above to rescue the NFT market from an apocalyptic flood. This image seemed especially fitting as hurricane Ian unleashed havoc across Southeast America. 
Inspired by famous Barcelona street artist Aryz, we created a flooded cityscape ripe with references to news from across the week. Half submerged you’ll see an Apple logo (referencing the company’s controversial NFT integration), a Bowie symbol (OpenSea tried to rebrand its logo for a Bowie drop) and an A for Azurbala.
All of this is combined on a wall as the artist bobs up and down at the bottom right. Gazette also focussed on good news, examined how XRP was bucking the bear and a prediction that the NFT market will be worth $20 billion by 2028. We also covered the ongoing search for Do Kwon.
