As NFT London concludes, we are “minding the gap,” getting onboard and transferring outta town via the L2 Bridge station. Tube through NFTown in this week’s Gazette.

Conferences like NFT London push the development of Web3 so we knew we had to commemorate the event. At first, we planned to make a fully typographic cover (something we’d never done before). This gradually developed into a vector art representation of the iconic London Underground lines - with an NFT twist of course!
Creating a fully functional Underground map with animated trains and stations proved to be an extremely complex task that involved adjusting the scale, pathways and stations until everything was just right. After that we had some fun coming up with NFT themed names for the classic subway stations. Passengers stop at Rekt Terminal, Degen Town and Bullishton (amongst many others) as they navigate the map!
We decided to keep the animations smooth and simple for this cover, with the trains flowing seamlessly along their tracks. Dudly added some immersive ambient sounds including that classic underground echo, the hum of commuter voices and music from buskers.

Gazette opened with a startling question: did the CIA kill crypto coder Nikolai Muchgian just days after he predicted his own murder? We also pondered how the UK’s appointment of crypto-loving Prime Minister Rishi Sunak might hasten mass adoption and rounded up the best markets to collect literary NFTs on.
The ArtDrop for this issue was ‘Interference’ by Yalda Eskandari. The piece is an examination of isolation in all forms, from the personal to the social and geographic.
