Alan Bolton is a multidisciplinary digital artist from Ireland currently living in Tenerife, Spain.

​Bolton graduated from college in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Business & Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology where he majored in digital marketing. Shortly after college Bolton moved to Los Angeles, California, and spent 14 months working as the lead content creator for the hugely popular YouTube channel MihranTV. Within this role, he led the channel from 480k to 1.2 million subscribers within a short period of time by producing 5 YouTube videos per week and creating engaging content across various social media platforms.

​Shortly after returning home to Ireland in January 2019, Bolton opened his own creative agency focusing on producing social media content through various mediums such as videography, photography, graphic design to 3D art, and visuals.

​Bolton has built a strong portfolio of worldwide clients from brands such as JUST Water and Sour Strips, to top DJs and musicians such as Tiësto, Deadmau5, and Example.

​Throughout 2020, he took a step back from client work to focus his attention on his own artistic career and began selling his digital artworks on top marketplaces such as MakersPlace, KnownOrigin, and Foundation. Using the connections he has built within the music industry he is continually working on collaborative projects within the NFT space with deadmau5’s label Mau5trap. 

​Bolton has built a strong following within the crypto art community in a short space of time and continues to grow and create new and exciting art and collaborations within the space.

Million Dollar Punk Draw

Issue #21 was born on Sunday, February 7th 2021 on just the 5th week of the year. Of course the creative genius behind this masterpiece is, yet again, Dudly.

It was back when NFT land was a far more simple place than it is today. We still had the talented Dr. Terminus creating wonderful content which will stay in history forever.

What was likely the event of the year, took place that week. “The Million Dollar Punk Draw” in which Pranksy, with the help of some trusted investors, closed an incredible deal with LarvaLabs to bulk buy 150 punks. Flamingo also purchased 152 punks with a similar deal and soon after that Pranksy was out of Flamingo. The total value at today’s floor prices with today’s ETH price would be about 10,500 ETH ~ between $39 and $42M.

We had the privilege to participate, through our founder, who was fortunate enough to be one of those investors. Dudly also designed the art that was used for the NFT tickets. What an honor for us to be involved in such a historical event for NFTs.

In that very same week, ETH surged to $1500 breaking the previous ATH set in 2017. We also covered Mark Cuban getting into NFTs which was big news back then. Since the week was so big we decided to go with something timeless. We chose Punk #205 which has been the Cryptopunks’ Discord server image forever, in order to illustrate all the punk movement through a single punk. The punk was recreated from scratch as vectors in Illustrator. Randomly generated selections were used to make 6 groups of these squares that were brought to After Effects to be animated with various 3D rotation – punks flipping nature references. At the time we were looking for more glances, so we created a kaleidoscopic mosaic generated by the very same punk animation with an animated hue shift. A simple concept is yet effective. Punk #205 was also part of the draw. All of this made issue #21 a true banger of an issue!
