I was born in Istanbul. I studied Graphic Arts in the Faculty of Fine Arts, in Marmara University. I started my professional career by drawing and writing caricatures for humour magazines which were managed by Oğuz Aral, who was a world-famous master illustrator.Besides, I had created designs and illustrations for major advertising agencies and brands located in Turkey and worldwide. In addition to this, I had worked with reputable publishers in the USA, Singapore, the UK, the Netherlands, and Turkey.Currently, I‘m designing T-shirts for one of the biggest textile companies in my home country and please feel free to contact me for illustrations, collaborative projects or exhibitions.

Week 14 of 2021 was a slow one for NFTs with not many remarkable events to cover within the issue.  With that in mind, we decided to grasp the opportunity and go for an Art Deco-style cover we had in mind for a while. 

Mainstream Punk

Issue #30 found its way into the world on Sunday 11th of April which was the 14th week of 2021. As you might have guessed by now, it was created by Dudly.
Week 14 of 2021 was a slow one for NFTs with not many remarkable events to cover within the issue.  With that in mind, we decided to grasp the opportunity and go for an Art Deco-style cover we had in mind for a while. 

The team has long been a big fan of Cassandre, the pseudonym of Adolphe Jean-Marie Mouron (24 January 1901 – 17 June 1968) who was a French painter, commercial poster artist, and typeface designer. So we wanted our cover to display our inspiration from his style.
The week might have been slow but there was an influx of new users into the NFT space which was another thing we wanted to communicate with this cover. We played with the blue-red colors of the artwork referencing a blue pill–red pill dilemma with the red pill being the no-brainer option – why not dive into the NFTs head first? 

In addition, the cars driving on the left side are choosing the red pills whereas the cars driving on the right choose not to partake in NFTs. You might notice that the cars are driving straight into the billboard, this was a nod to Save Art Space as they were displaying punks on billboards in Miami at the time.

An amazing cover overall, and is the first of our covers to have audio which would prove to be a formative moment for Redlion. Since Gazette issue #30 our covers feature music and/or sound effects.

The ArtDrop for issue #30 was “Shaman” by the artist Burak Şentürk, who has blasted punk-inspired artworks for Apple, Spotify, Green Day, Red Bull, Nike, Disney, and Redlion of course.
