Issue #62 was published on Sunday, November 21, 2021, week 46 of the year. What an eventful week for gossip that was! This clever cover was created by Dudly.
The community went berserk when questionable facts were unearthed about Artchick (Chelsea Molon), a prolific member and influencer of the NFT community. Starting with an old tweet the investigations snowballed into grand conclusions on the identity of Artchick. These rumors and findings that they were a man named Tanner who had worked in the software industry were dismissed by Artchick as they stood their ground. 

Memes, trolls, and “GM Tanner” flooded the feeds. GMs have been quite popular in the community that it even started a meme coin that has all the traits of a sketchy project. We also had some interesting news about a newly formed DAO that was unsuccessful in its bid to purchase a copy of the US Constitution. 

The main theme was Artchick’s identity crisis. The idea of depicting identity layers as a Russian nested doll called “Matryoshka” was instantly formed. The patterns were drawn onto the 3D model using the recently introduced 3D features in Procreate.

The first revealed nested doll represents Beanie as a call-back to previous allegations and Twitter fights of these two NFT influencers. Inside we hid a drawing of the latest expressive selfie video posted by Artchick. Next in the line was our mysterious Mr. Tanner, whoever he/she/they are. The final tiny doll reveals a small cute catfish to finish the animation on the lighter side. 

A few tiny details were hidden into the “Master” doll patterns: FUD (token), #2476 (Cryptopunk), ETH sign, and sun with the greeting “gm.”
Wherever the truth is, it’s probably a good time to launch a “Disguised Anon Catfish” PFP project. Anyone?
