Worming Around 

Issue #65 was published on Sunday, December 11, 2021, week 49 of the year. The issue was a special issue that was airdropped to all Redlion subscribers and Worm Disciples. There were no editions for public sale. This holy cover was created by Dudly and Amal.

For the unaware, the Worm is an innovative NFT contract launched earlier this year that is intended to be shared to mint. By transferring the Worm from one wallet to another you receive a “Worm Hologram”, an indexed copy of itself.  It must be noted that the Worm has an active offer of 5ETH that must not be accepted for it to continue on its journey.
After a long winter in a wallet, the Worm made its way to Redlioneye who asked for a show of hands in our Discord server for those who’d like to pass the Worm around. 

There was a great response and so we passed it around before passing it onto our first subscriber C.Pyrc. They passed it back to one of our subscribers who agreed we can have a second round of passing. That did not go as planned as one of the subscribers accepted the 5 ETH offer and the worm was vaulted. Later though, the holder released the Worm after witnessing vigorous protest from the Worm Disciples.

To make up for the chaos that had ensued, we decided we should do a special issue that would be airdropped to the Worm disciples and our subscribers only. The concept of the cover was inspired by the Worm community. There was a Church of the Worm and a set of hardcore disciples who were ready to go to war for the Worm. We realized that the time had come for a holy worm to be incarnated. Artistically we were inspired by the 15th-century catholic paintings. The scene we had plotted was that of the holy Worm preaching to a crowd and in the distance, a Judas-Bahdoon takes a fat bribe from the Cat for snitching out the enlightened Worm. The cover was complete with church bells and hymns. 

We were incredibly happy with the response we received from the Worm community. The fact that the cover became another reason for the Cat to release the Worm makes it even more special. These are the simple joys of a community that nobody can steal away.

The ArtDrop for issue #65 was “Gyrating Realities” by the artist Pulkit Kudiwal, who creates unfathomable cityscapes that will blow your mind away.
