Issue #77 dropped on Sunday 6th March, at the end of a sad week for Web3.

The death of NFT pioneer Alotta Money sparked an outpouring of grief. We dedicated this acid-collage style cover to Alotta with details like the eye, the UFO, tentacles and cow (not to mention his classic profile picture, now imbued with angel wings). 

This cover marked a big departure from our previous designs. We delved into the artistic vaults of different historical eras until we found a painting that resonated: “The Carpet Merchant” by Jean-Leon Gerome. Gerome was a master of the Oriental style favoured by the Ottomans, and his work laid the perfect foundations for this cover.

You’ll find references to all the articles in this lively scene. An embroidered carpet depicting Van Gogh serves as a reminder about mental health in the space. Randi Zuckerberg perches atop a wall in the background (along with a bear!), presumably making plans for her next cringefest music video. Look closely and you’ll see a defeated Putin hanging limply and swaying in the breeze.

The shocking Treasure Marketplace exploit led the news, along with the platform’s advice to its users: delist everything. We also included handy guides about how to protect your NFTs and preserve your mental health in what can be a stressful space. Randi Zuckerberg’s “musical” endeavours were also roasted.

The ArtDrop for #77 was all about positive vibes. A trippy, hippy piece from Jason Naylor, “GM” bursts with joy and immaculate vibes.
