Those good vibes continued into Gazette. We led with a countdown of the most influential LGBTQ+ creators in the space followed by a lighthearted look at Snoop Dogg’s NFT endorsements. 

All You Need is Love

Issue #90 was released on Sunday 5th June.

We had one aim with this cover: to spread love, peace and joy. Love was a big theme this week - Dudly had just got married! In his (much deserved) absence we had to get to work on the cover earlier than ever. 

This was one of our liveliest designs yet and required an animation/illustration marathon to get it over the line. Amal began with a rough sketch of what would be placed in each segment. Timing the animations so that they looped perfectly and were broadly in sync was the biggest challenge this week.

The result was a cover rich in motifs and iconography. Two rings symbolise a wedding, there’s a doorway to the Love Zone, “learn, love, respect” slide in perpetual motion; there’s even a Love Metre, the LGBTQ+ colours and countless other positive vibes. We included 12 elements - see if you can spot them all! 

Of course the cover had a loved-themed soundtrack too: “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles (also the song Dudly proposed to!).

The ArtDrop for #90 was ‘Light of Her Eyes.’ In the creator’s own words, this piece is “dedicated to all the strong women with fire in their eyes.”
