The recent conviction of SBF for fraud makes him an undeniable subject for the cover I created for issue 164. I utilized Procreate to draw and animate the piece.
Initially, I sketched SBF's face from various angles, typically allowing my creativity to guide the completion of the piece or to narrate a story within a looped GIF. It was then that I recalled a previous work of mine, 'Jong Navago,' featuring a man behind bars—a concept that resonated perfectly with the SBF theme.
I proceeded to depict him imprisoned, with bars intentionally colored red and green to symbolize the volatile cryptocurrency market. The narrative wasn't complex; I simply visualized him serving time in jail, attempting to bend the bars. I incorporated my signature hand-drawn glitches to symbolize human flaws, mental health issues, and such—depicting us as fallible, breathing computers.
For reference, I conducted a Google search to find images of SBF's face. Collaborating with Redlion was an extraordinary experience. When @cryptofroager mentioned the covers, I instantly agreed to contribute one. Although not much transpired subsequently, the anticipation built as my turn approached. The SBF topic was as thrilling as it was intense. Ideas swiftly flooded my mind. I consider this work—and the collaboration—to be historical milestones for me.
