What a "heisty" week in Defi and NFTs, right? We were discussing the GTA-inspired cover long before, but the right time has just come with issue 48. Let's see what we came up with.
We have mixed those two heists into one image. The scene takes place near Venice Beach, the actual street where you were able to mint Crypto Venetians in the Bright Moments gallery.
The robber is holding two big bags and one kidney bag with the logos of stolen coins. Instead of cash, he holds a phone to demonstrate the fact that you can easily carry 600 million dollars in your small device.
In the background, you can spot Crypto Venetian on his longboard. To symbolize his disappearance I never let him cross the street to the other side, so he vanishes behind the gangster's back.
If you look close enough, you can see a "SlowMist" sign on the bottom of the helicopter – the name of the crypto security firm that had tracked the hacker's digital footprints, which led to returning the stolen funds. Crimestat stars were underlining the GTA theme cover and were Red idea.
I also recreated and altered the official GTA logo for our purpose and added the "Venice Beach" title. Isn't it cool tho? We truly love to invent such details to bring the cover artwork to perfection.
This illustration style is very demanding, and I wouldn't have been able to create this piece in one day without looking at many GTA artwork references and trying to mimic the style. The drawing without post-production and sketch included took about 15 hours. Â
Do you feel like playing GTA again?
