This week’s cover was a tribute to Sartoshi who has left behind us all with the legacy and community of MFers.
The past few days have been quite disastrous in the crypto world, and above that, a frenly figure in our community departed to the other side of life where everything is more secure and permanent than the blockchain. The decision to pay tribute to Sartoshi and MFers came soon after the news. We took to the cover with an idea inspired by the “Where’s Wally” illustrations.
Dudly made a rough sketch that got us going with the illustration. Though this is one of those styles that I dread, with help from Dudly I was able to take it on even after coming late to the drawing board. The environment was decided to be a busy office with MFers hustling through their daily work keeping the grind going oblivious of the fact that Sartoshi is absent.
The most challenging part personally was the limited time at hand to do a piece of work that gets better with detail. After all, it turned out to be fine. As the market moves towards a deadly dip we all are busy putting our best efforts into building this space. We wanted to convey this through the depiction of MFers at work, long after their boss or higher power is gone. That this will continue to develop and progress in one form or another.
We kept the animation simple like that of Gazette 35, with just speech bubbles popping out from the crowd as the office continues to work and hunt for Sartoshi.
