Issue #58 was published on Sunday, October 24, 2021, week 42 of the year. ATH(All-Time Highs) is when dopamine is flooding crypto Twitter and that calls for a cover. The cover was created by dopamine-influenced Dudly and Amal.
NFT Games were in the crosshairs after Valve Co. quietly banned all games built on blockchain technology that issue or allow the exchange of cryptocurrencies or NFTs. Epic Games was quick to step into those shoes claiming that they are “open to games that support cryptocurrency or blockchain-based assets.” 

This was a quick 180 since the then-CEO shunned NFTs as “a mix of scams” only a few weeks prior. Speaking of scams, a 17-year-old managed to scam 88 ETH by sending a fake announcement with a Discord bot on CreatureToadz’s server. The highlight of the story was the community banding together to get the ETH returned. In money-making news, PFPs started incorporating passive income initiatives and Starry Night Capital kicked off institutional investments with NFTs.

The concept for the cover was conceived keeping NFT games in mind and also the ATHs of ETH and BTC. We were injected with the idea of using a tattoo-style artwork like that of Ed Hardy’s. The direction was clear, we had to use a more painterly tattoo-style like those that are prominent in oriental countries. The artists had the liberty to experiment with colors for the different elements in the artwork and that shows.

References (starting from the top going clockwise) are the Genesis of BTC in 2008; Discord Webhook Attacks; Papa John’s pizzas bought with 10k BTC(which was $40 worth at the time); a tiger depicting the booming crypto economy; a butterfly splitting into two showing the split of ETH into ETH and ETH Classic, and one catching fire (you can guess which one); a dragon depicting the dragon economies of Asia emerging in the crypto sphere; Meka skull decaying beautifully; a screaming monster with the Tesla logo on its tongue to show the infamous tweets of Elon Musk that affected the BTC market.

The market continues to experiment with different ventures that may or may not succeed but that’s all part of the overall growth.
