This week’s cover is our attempt to show what it looks like to be the only child of a miner father who has just lost his job, and life too. Sorry for this sorrowful cover, but it is what it is.
Honestly, this child’s drawing style idea originated from the fact that we were exhausted from the Twitter and PFP grind. Nevertheless, it turned out to be apt to depict the miners going out of work in a less conventional way. The script for the drawing went in this order: father goes to work at the mine; mine explodes; daughter wailing at the funeral. We would like to say that this is in no manner meant to downplay the trauma of a child who’s lost a father.
At first, the idea was to only have the drawing but to make things interesting Dudly suggested that we place the drawing in a realistic setting through photo manipulation. That called for a “Photo Manipulation 101” class for me. I believe I did alright in getting the objects to blend in with the environment, and also to throw some eth references into the mix. If you look closely at the block you will see the merge block and on the pencils, the different test net names of Ethereum are engraved. Lastly, the audio stitches the whole emotionally wrecking scene together.
The unexpected hurdle in the making of this cover came with the rendering. According to popular opinion, I have the power to crash AE renders. We spent quite a bit of time before Dudly was able to render the file on his system.
We will be back next week with another cool cover frens! Until then, watch our favorite Redlion PFP story unfold.
