The final issue of the year 2022, and we surely had to go out with a bang. 12 signs from the past year that formed the narrative of NFTs and Crypto in 2022. It sure was a bumpy ride but we made it through! We hope for the best as we march into an unpredictable but happy new year.

A slow week and I must say other than the mishappenings a slow year came to an end, finally. We took to the board with the idea of showing the different stars from the past year who were in the spotlight for both good and bad reasons. The idea was to use images/videos from existing content but right after Dudly decided that we should use Midjourney and its AI talent to render these images. I agreed this was a great idea as creating 12 different artworks in less than 24 hours seemed quite a task I’d need the help of a few Avengers.

Along the way, we decided instead of just using 12 months we should use the 12 Zodiac sun signs to portray the images. Dudly suggested the famous Astronomical clocks in Prague that are a vital part of its history and culture. We studied the different types of clocks and composed a basic structure that we can use that is not overly complicated. We first drew a rough image of how it should look, and then we took it to illustrator to create the vector shapes. Once that was done, we brought the shapes over to Photoshop to add texture and other ornamental elements to bring the clock to life.

What we thought would be a moderately easy task turned out to be the most time-consuming and hard one– to create the images using Midjourney. Over the course of creating the 12 images, we figured out the various limitations that Midjourney still has to overcome to become the tool it hopes to be. Nevertheless the app is mind-blowing to say the least. We used the various Zodiac signs along with the different characters to create the artwork. 

The Bogdanoff brothers for Capricorn (#69); Ukraine war for Aquarius; Alotta Money for Pisces; Apecoin for Aries; Elon Musk for Taurus; Do Kwon  and Luna for the Gemini Twins; Sartoshi’s Mfer for Cancer alongside a cooked crab dish; 3AC for Leo; Redlion lady for Virgo; Vitalik with the Libra balance; FTX for Scorpio aptly and finally Lionel Messi as the Archer.

We were surprised with every render that MJ produced that at times it was difficult to choose which one to go with. 2022 being the year of AI with GPT3 and Midjourney/Dalle/Stable Dissusion etc. making the headlines the cover artwork was absolutely on point. 

As AI continues to become more powerful and enhanced so will humans who adapt to it. On another note, 2022 is behind us and we are ready to tackle and strive through 2023.
