This week’s Gazette is our run up towards the NFT NYC, where we will be present with our fellow frens from the space.

The past week was quite interesting with a lot of small events happening, but nothing major. We accumulated all these events to form a cover. What style? Since NFT NYC was fast approaching we decided to go with Keith Haring’s style, a legendary artist whose legacy will remain forever a core part of NYC’s culture.

First, we listed out all the important events: foreign countries banding against the dollar for trades; the bet between the punks Anonymoux2311 and l’anamour; the looming wars; NFT NYC where we will be at the 368 studio, Broadway; Deekay sharing a free tool to rig and animate characters in AE; NFT Tokyo; El Salvador removing taxes on all tech innovation related incomes; Twitter source code which was revealed giving insights such as the power groups that users are divided into (Democratic, Republican, Elon Musk, Power Users).

A lot of references compared to the last few slow weeks. Once I had all of them doodled out we decided to use the Redlion palette since we hadn’t used it since the 2021 Halloween issue. The longest part was for sure animating all of it frame by frame. When I finished it, two loops of the animation were at over 1600 layers. Yeah, AE didn’t like these numbers and refused to work. We found a way around it and finished the animation with a nice beat.
