The New Jersey-based artist WG, known for his impactful and layered digital abstract creations, embodies the perfect blend of traditional artistry and modern digital dynamism, as he created the cover artwork for Redlion Gazette Issue 155.
In his own words about the experience of making a Redlion Gazette cover artwork,
While creating the concept for the Gazette, there was a need to share the importance of reflection with the Redlion community in combination with the abstract. A new output based on FLESH was created specifically for this issue in order to showcase a buildup of a breakdown, the start of the used. The Legendary 1/1 displays the final outcome or explosion of anxiety which many of us are feeling at the moment as a community.
In the end both covers were birthed from the desire to open discussions on how we move in this life and who can be affected by it. The colors and intensity serve as energy meters to the overall situation.
As the regular gazette renders the emotion of the impacted, the Legendary 1/1 aim is to overwhelm and give off a sense of panic or uncontrollable emotion. An original abstract glitch piece was created to be used in conjunction with the FLESH output so the final blowup is felt as intense as possible and within the visual style and vibrance that people are used to when it comes to my art.
The title Daisies is a slight nod to the "NFTs are dead" narrative but mentioned not as without life but as what the flower symbolizes, a movement of renewal and above all odds regardless of narrative.

As WG wishes, we too wish that NFTs will go through the cycles and blossom once again.
