Ahoy, Me Hearties!
The most memorable event of week 37 was definitely the OpenSea scandal. What a chance for us to illustrate this misbehavior in a cheeky and topical way. This pirate-themed cover was damn fun to make and also for the first time I had great help from my new sidekick pal Amal, who will be collaborating with me on the covers and other Redlion visual outputs from now on.
We have brainstormed the opportunities how we may grasp the topic, Amal drew the first sketch with Nate looking in the crystal ball, but I have expanded the idea to the pirate approach where the pirate captain is sleeping in his cabin and left the treasure map unguarded to the curious look of his junior crew member.
Here comes Nate as a room sweeper that couldn't resist taking the advantage. I tried to express as much sketchy look as possible. In the background, you can spot the frog referring our another article - CrypToadz by Gremplin.
If we observe more details in the piece we will discover the OpenSea logo on the chair and the HEX logo (article) on the wall.
The last references we incorporated are miso soup on the left of the table (article) and chips with Google and Flow logos on the right (article).
The first intervention to our creation by Red was the animation proposal of the ship rocking and moving loose objects. He demanded also the wave splash on the window. But who could better help us finish this maritime piece into perfection than an experienced captain like him?
Amal was a big help with picking the soundtrack and searching the sound FXs to even more underline the mood of our first pirate cover.
Yo Ho Ho and see you next week!
