An ode to the grand entrance of NFTs at Art|Basel happening this year in sunny Miami.Â
We began the brainstorming process thinking it should be about Miami but then immediately decided that it should be more about the art than the location because that is what it is all about. How do you portray NFTs but have the essence of Miami and a prestigious exhibition? Dudly pointed out that we never had abstract cover art and that’s the direction we should move in.
After picking our brains for a while it was decided that the abstract art will be placed in a gallery but it’s actually an NFT making it not just restricted to it's physical space. The juxtaposition that this idea brings into the picture elevates the concept of NFTs invading the fair. Dudly laid out the vision and we were on board with the idea.Â
A few abstract artworks later we decided it’s missing something.
Can we bring more Miami into it? We threw some ideas around and we had something to be truly inspired by: Wynwood Walls of Miami.Â
The artwork primarily becomes a graffiti wall that has years of artists and artworks painted over each other and fighting for space. Multiple references are hidden in the artwork; art|basel to start with; our NFT guides; Collin’s dictionary word of the year; meme lines(barely legible lol) and more.
We placed the artwork in a beautifully rendered animation to complete the essence of the cover. In the end, it was both NFT and Miami.Â
We hope you take the time to enjoy this cover as much as we did making them frens! See y’all next week! Â
