In the deep dark depths of the bear market and NFTs dying Sam Spratt brought forth a phenomenal concept and execution through The Monument Game. A game that heralds a glimpse into the future of digital storytelling, where boundaries between the creator and the audience blur.Â
The artist for the week was the powerful creative force Philheal. What's interesting was that we had Phil assigned for the previous week but due to some difficulties with his schedule, we had to move these dates. Surprisingly, the week and the story to cover perfectly aligned with Phil's taste and aesthetics.
Once the discussions were finished we earnestly awaited for Phil to present us the rough sketch. In the past few week the most anticipated and nerve-wracking moment for us is this waiting period where are left to wonder what magic and madness follow.
Philheal presented us with a rough sketch, and we instantly knew that this was going to be stellar. He went on about with his works and in the end, produced the cover artwork that you see now. The inspiration and the execution are both equally great.
The Redlion Gazette logo as been inscribed in the glyphs that Sam Spratt used in the game. The issue number is missing, making it an ultra-rare Gazette in the collection. Only one other Gazette shares this trait-- can you guess which one?
We made a few ambient animations to bring the legendary to life, and added music and SFX that fits the storyline.
Overall, the artwork captured a historical moment in NFTs that brought together people to both enjoy and indulge in a one-of-a-kind movement.
