The cover for issue 69 is a “meme”-orial to the celebrated Bogdanoff brothers who passed away recently. Their presence in the crypto community in the form of memes have been indispensable. 

The concept for the cover was decided to be the Bogdanoffs after the news of their passing reached us. The Bogdanoffs claimed to have helped write the source code for Bitcoin, and were considered the crypto-puppet masters who could change the market at their whim.

Dudly instantly connected the dots between 69(our issue number) and the twins and came up with a brilliant idea. We were gonna pose the identical twins as 6 and 9!

The style for the artwork was decided on after going through several other ones. We needed something clean, powerful, and instantly recognisable. This would have been incomplete without their iconic “pump it” and “dump it” dialogues from the famous crypto memes. We also had one with their younger versions but decided not to use them since many aren’t familiar with the Bogdanoffs from that era.

Given the current bearish situation of the crypto we have to believe that the Bogdanoffs are still pulling strings from the ether and beyond. Hopefully, it will all settle down soon and it will be “pump it” season.
