The laundry business in the NFTs has got its pedal to the metal with Looks Rare marketplace. Several insights show that the marketplace is ripe with users using the platform for wash trading NFTs.
We set out to conceptualize the cover artwork keeping in mind the main top of the week that was the wash trading happening in Looks Rare. What better way to show wash trading than a laundromat? We decided that would be the concept. Dudley laid out the different objects that would populate the laundry and star-studded with the selfie-star of the part week Ghozali. In a parallel universe, we have gone with another idea Red suggested: washing on the banks of the Ganges. We went for a neon-vaporware style for the artwork; dopey, high, and neon-ey. The palette is so familiar to many who have seen the lo-fi ambient music videos on Youtube.
This was no ordinary laundry, the washing machines here wash NFTs and reward you with $LOOKS that you can collect on your way out. You can choose between “WETH or DRY” wash (hehe). Even though Ghozali is behind the desk, he has no part to play in the laundry; infact he is there only to use the webcam of the desktop. Since Ghozali visits the place “every day” the laundry owners figured that the business needs no other employee.
On close observation you can find a Gary-pump that’s pumping Crypto Skulls balloons, a “Danger-Slippage” sign referring to Fees. Wtf, Meebit incense holder, a set of pirate eyes representing OS peeping in, and of course our “Covers Collection 2021” that sold out earlier this week.
Wondering what interesting events are going to take place this week that will make it to our next issue! We’ll be back with another witty cover frens!
